No matter the circumstances, as a full spectrum doula, I am here to make sure pregnant women are seen and heard. Through Mama Nourished I offer support for people experiencing different situations through all birth outcomes.
Birth Doulas provide culturally appropriate physical, emotional and informational support to soon to be mama’s & parents during the birth process. The primary responsibility is to be present in every sense, helping the mother to cope with labor in anyway and supporting the father in participating during the birthing experience. Birth doulas assist with relaxation mechanisms, such as breathing techniques, positioning, and massages. They support the physical & emotional needs of women during labor and are a resource for information that helps parents make informed decisions in conjunction with their healthcare providers.

Postpartum Doula Services
As a trained doula I teach and assist with postpartum adjustment, newborn characteristics and care, development, breastfeeding, and parent-infant bonding. An empathic, compassionate non-judgmental approach. Postpartum care can be worked in to fit a schedule or can be used as needed when things are feeling overwhelming. Extended hours and customized packages are also available.

Bereavement Doula Services
A Bereavement Doula or a “loss doula” has a very distinct role to support a family through the loss of their baby. These type of losses can include chemical pregnancies, ectopic pregnancies, early term miscarriages, late term miscarriages, termination and stillbirths, or a diagnoses that means the baby will not live long after being delivered. As to give back to my community, I provide this care and service at a very low cost or completely FREE to mothers (following the passing of their child and within 5 miles of my location) charging for the materials needed for the preparation of baby’s burial and for 'closing the bones' after care, which helps in the healing process and caring for the mother’s wellbeing after this devastating time.

After birth, most of your time and energy is spent figuring out how to feed and care for your baby! I believe breastfeeding is an art and a science and want to provide you with the support and information to help you figure out what works for your family. You deserve to feel empowered and informed on your journey through nourishing your baby with breastmilk. Lactation is a multi-faceted experience that carries with it a powerful bond and innumerable health benefits for baby and mother. I can walk you through all of the basics of latch and positioning, teach you how to feel confident in your baby's intake and your milk production, and navigate more complex challenges with milk supply and common nursing disruptions. I can assist you in tandem nursing, complimentary bottle-feeding, starting solids, returning to work, and full or partial weaning, as well as education about baby sleep and behavior at all ages and stages. I will also check in on your emotional and physical wellbeing and make sure that you have all of the support you need. Includes handouts and resource lists as well as reading suggestions.
Every body and baby is different! I’m here to help you figure it out.
We realize how crucial it is to get timely breastfeeding support when you need it. My sessions are available virtually to address any issues coming up for you! We can do this when you are in the hospital in the first few days/hours, or after you get home! I like to go through a feed with you and your birth story counts— so spending time understanding recent events helps me to help you.
